The program, which raises money for Alzheimers, is described below. "There is a phrase that says, "Elephants never forget." Alzheimer's disease is a form of dementia, which in turn victims never forget. That is why the elephant is the help of celebrities. As I live relatively close to New York City, I wait outside of Broadway theaters and other events to meet each celebrity. After explaining to them what I am doing, I ask each celebrity to sign a business card that was custom made for this project. I also ask the celebrities to pose with either Trumpet the Elephant Beanie Baby or Peanut the Elephant Beanie Baby. All the pictures are printed out and auctioned off with the signed card. July 24 2009: Teenie Updates It has been one week since the Teenie promotion at McDonalds and collecters have already been sharing stories of their hunts. It seems that the majority of McDonalds have all 30 in stock and are giving them out randomly, but some are buying whole sets as well. The codes for the Teenies seem to be divided into two groups. The first set includes the McWorld characters and the second is all of the rest. The codes for the McWorld characters when registered allow the person to choose whichever non-McWorld character Teenie to play with on the site. For example, if you were to register a Ronald Teenie you would be able to play as a Frostiness or Maiden, or whichever you like. All of the other Teenies are added as the normal BB2.0, just in a smaller size. The new Beanies such as Streamers and Celebration have their own BB2.0 avatar, as do Boomer, Spurs, and Frostiness. No update yet on those rumored 3 special edition Teenies, or the rumored Bo Teenie. If any news does surface, I'll be sure to post it. The little advertisement can be seen on the Ty homepage. June 10 2009: BEANIE BOO PICTURES!!!! In-hand pictures of the Beanie Boos have finally surfaced. They are similar to normal Beanies but have over-sized heads and large eyes, giving the Beanie a truely adorable face. My favorite so far is the koala. The hang tags are a purple/magenta Ty Heart with the word "TY" in yellow and a blue border. The logo is the word "BEANIE" in blue with "BOOS" below it, with the O's being eyes. Pictures in the link above. Pictures of all 8 are out now, and an official introduction should hopefully come soon. June 4 2009: Beanie Boos!! The previously reported 8 set of Beanies due to be resoon has now been confirmed as the Beanie Boo collection. Richard from the UK writes to Doodles Page saying that each Beanie is a really cute animal that has oversized eyes. They are expected to ship towards the end of the month and will initially be released in the UK. May 23 2009: New Marvelous Mariah & Sweet Sydney Packages With Bo Key-Clip Recenlty, The BB2.0 Bo has been re-released as a Ty Classic, key-clip (red, white, or blue clip), and a new version of the Beanie itself. Along with these, new TyGirlz packages with Mariah or Sydney are being sent to retailers, each with a key-clip version of Bo. The package appears to be a cardboard frame around the doll, holding it in place. The doll in addition has a new hat and is holding a key-clip version of Bo. April 29 2009: Dewi Y Ddraig Richard from the UK shares that "the new Uk exclusive Classic, Dewi Y Ddraig is identical in design to Y Ddraig Goch, the original red dragon.The flag is in exactly the same place as his earlier cousin,with the point of difference between the two being the colour. 'Dewi' has a green body but has a wonderful cream contrast chest-he really is a stunning piece.I spoke with Ty UK today and they are expecting the dragon into their warehouse this Friday, 1st May... Regarding the name 'Dewi', it is true that the literal translation into English of the name is David. However,the name isn't meant to be translated quite so literally.
